My husband doesn't have an outside job, he is a stay at home daddy due to lay offs and expensive day care costs. Every week I deposit about 50 dollars into his personal account, and 50 into mine, the rest goes into a joint account. When we were both working we would each deposit 100 in our seperate accounts as just spending money. I do it so he has some "private" money that he can spend on whatever he wants, whenever he wants. I know christmas is coming up, and he isn't going to have any of his own money to spend on gifts and such. Would it be offensive for me to put more money in his personal account so that he could buy gifts with out me knowing what they are??? I already know he feels a little bummed out being a stay at home dad and not the main provider anymore, and I don't want to make another blow to his manhood.
He likes buying gifts for our daughter (who is 2) that I don't know about, so it is a surprise to me too.
I already told him he can use the joint account by himself to go shop for his family's gifts ( I can be a lil overbearing when it comes to shopping LOL so he buys his bro and sis's gifts alone).
He is looking for a job currently, but can't afford to take anything that pays less than 2 grand a month because child care in my area is SO expensive it would be pointless to have our daughter in a daycare when his whole pay check is going to that. The cheapest I have found in the area is 1700 a month, the cheaper places I wouldn't even let them watch my fish.
