It's only worth blue book, unless you make a modification someone is willing to pay extra for,which is rare, modifications usually detract from resale value. At the level you are describing,you are just maintaining an older vehicle,consider it the cost of transportation. blue book is about what it's worth.
 
or what I paid for it and what I put into it? I dont want to sell it now but when I do get ready to sell it , what should I do? I paid $2500 for it and so far put about $900 into it.
