Flash is sucky on tablets, we are up to 10.3 now, so it is a little outdated. Flash was never designed for touchscreen input, and it does tend to drain battery life too. While some flash will work ok, most games will not work properly as they require keyboard input (unless you have an external keyboard). Android 2.2 isn't properly designed for tablets, you want 3.0 and above for that.

It depends on how you are going to use it.
After looking at reviews, available apps, ease of use, available accessories, and thinking about how I spend most of my time on the computer AND why I wanted a small portable device, I came to the conclusion that the iPad was the one for me.

I already was hooked on the iPod Touch and wanted more, bigger, better. The iPad fit. I kept reading reviews on Android tablets - all very favorable. Was leaning that way. But they just don't have the support, no apps to speak of, and the iPad is so intuitive compared to the Android tabs.

The downsides of the iPad are not great enough, and there are gadgets to compensate that don't cost much.
The tablet for under $100 - well you get what you pay for (or didn't pay for as the case here). Small, but heavy for what it does, which isn't much. Nice of them to try and drive prices down and attempt to bring tablets to those of modest means. But who wants to use a dud?

The Android tabs I did consider were the Xoom and the 10 inch Galaxy Tablet.

I have heard some good reviews on the new 7" Amazon Tablet, which is priced at about $250 and hit the market yesterday. Haven't seen one yet, but rumor is that Apple should be quaking in their shoes. Who knows?
