Should I start taking Clomid?

My husband and I have been TTC for 10 months. We decided to go to the doctor and get checked out. He is 'normal', and my tests came back 'normal' as well. I have been charting my ovulation for the past 2 months, and every other day I get the same reading, negative. My periods are never on the same day, between 26 and 31, and the length varies from heavy to 3 days and light. What does all this mean in terms of fertility? Should I start taking Clomid?
