I was riding my bike down a bike trail and it was raining. The bike trail leads to a 2-way intersection. I am riding at a fairly fast speed. I see that the car going to the right stopped, so I rode my bike on the street and then I see a car going to the left and it is slowing down, looking like it is about to stop. So I sped up a little bit to hurry to the other side. Then the car going to the left hit me and it wasn't the front of my bike or middle, but the REAR of my bike. Also, there are stop signs, but they say "Stop if you see pedestrians," which might play a big role. Also, the university police officer said the witnesses were against me because he stopped and I didn't yield or some bs like that. Then in the police report it says the driver slowed down, but never STOPPED. So what do you think my chances of winning are?
P.S. The guy who hit me said he was looking out for pedestrians, but not cyclists, so I don't know if that could help. Also when he was slowing down there was a very clear view of me. For the first person who answered my question, how am I suppose to just stop in the freaking middle of the street, now that would be trying to kill myself.
