Hey guys, I want an unbiased opinion so I figured, why not post on Yahoo?
I went on a month-long trip with my cousin a few years ago. Unfortunately, I came back with PTSD because of the culture/poverty shock. My cousin wasn't the best travel companion, but we sort of relied on each other to make the trip bearable.
She's going again in a few months, and I have to decide whether to go or not. My parents and siblings are against it. My dad thinks it's a waste of money. My siblings don't like my cousin at all. And I'm on the fence at this point.
Financially, I might be able to scrape the funds together. I don't really like where we're going, but I keep telling myself that "maintaining relationships are an indicator of adulthood." She's my only cousin & an only child, so I guess I feel a deep obligation not to disappoint her.
