No....Just tax the hell out of it. We should do the same for marijuana and alcohol

Yes they should but govts at all levels are too dependent on the tax revenues to do it.

No if you want drugs banned then ban caffeine, it's a psychoactive drug in the same family as cocaine.

no absolutely not.
yes smoking can have a detrimental effect on your health, but America is a free country and people should be allowed to do whatever they want so long as it does not have a negative impact on other people.

people want to smoke and they arent going to stop if its illegal which means it would just cause alot of needless arrests.

We shouldn't ban them, but we need to restrict them from poluting public places.

The government uses the following criteria to decide of something should be illegal:

Does it have medicinal use?

Does it have harmful side-effects (in any dose)?

If the answer to those questions is no and yes respectively, they ban it.. That's their argument for keeping marijuana illegal (they don't acknowledge that it has medicinal uses).

So under our law: yes, it should be illegal.

We don't outlaw it because tobacco companies have piles of lobbyists making sure Republican congressmen keep it legal.
