Should trucks be perfectly level?

Just bought a 2007 Ford Ranger, and noticed half an inch difference in height on one side in the rear (measured from center of tire on ground to top of outer wheel well). Is this normal, or should it be perfectly level? It appears to be the suspension, not the frame. The truck has new shock absorbers in the rear, installed by a Ford dealer.

Thanks.

It's a Ranger. Not exactly know for its great build quality. I should know as I used to work across the street from the plant that built them and the workers were regular customers.

assuming there isn't a real problem, its probably because of your leaf springs. Is the bed empty? how much gas is in the tank? 20 gallons of gas vs 1 gallon is a large weight difference which may cause your truck to lean slightly. 1inch may be a bit much, but maybe not.
