As an chief engineer and inventor, I have reviewed with great interest the shroud. The 3D image cannot be "faked" by any technology, especially technology of that era.
Yes, there were many Christian forgeries...this one is real, in my opinion, and the opinion of many others.
The carbon dating was done on a patch that was stitched on at a later date.
