Hey!
I need to quickly make some simple cookies, but, I only have the usual ingredients:
eggs
flour
butter/margerine
sugar (white)
Baking powder

Anyone have any ideas? Simple sugar cookie recipes are fine too... but it would be great if they are soft

oh, and anyone have any tips on how to make sure your cookies turn out soft?

THANKS SO MUCH!

Snickerdoodles

Mix together thoroughly:
1 cup soft shortening
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
Sift together and stir in:
2¾ cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt

Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in a mixture of 2 Tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place about 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400°F. until lightly browned, but still soft 8 - 10 minutes. (These cookies puff up at first, but then flatten out.). Yield: about 5 dozen 2" cookies.

Softness is a result of cooking time; too short and the cookies are doughy, too long and the cookies are hard.
