Abu Bakr is recorded to have left Mecca with all his wealth (leaving his relatives in Mecca with virtually nothing) but there is no record of Mohammed taking anything with him nor any of the emigrants taking anything much with them either.

Just wondering how Mohammed and the emigrants earned their living in Medina.

Did they, for example, have plantations / orchards ? If so, how did they get them ?
If they traded, who did they trade with ?
And if they had livestock (camels and horses or goats), how they earned enough to start up.

Thanks for any info and any authentic and reliable references / sources.

Regards
John
