Slow broadband internet speed.?

I have a broadband internet connection. It has been performing extremely slow since a couple of days. The download speeds were used to be 50KB/s - 70KB/s. But now the downloads won't go over 9KB/s!!! Even the web browsing is pretty slow. For example when I watch you tube videos it takes about 5 minutes to start the video(this is slower than my previous dial up connection). I even checked my internet connection from an online speed test. According to that I should get speeds between 50KB/s to 70KB/s.
I had COMODO firewall installed. I saw in forum that COMODO firewall really slows the internet connection. I have uninstalled it but it's still the same.
Please help!!!!

Try with some of the basic tips for faster and better internet connection,
* Check the Start up programs and remove the unwanted
* Maintain a Decent Space limit at Hard drive
* Check for Malware, Spyware and bots
* Clear cookies and temporary history files
* Close unwanted background tasks if any
* Reset the modem
* Check the wiring
* Browse with latest and updated browser
* Download using torrents
* Upgrade your hardware
