Slow Computer Slow Internet.?

My computer has become increasingly slow. I hate an ATI 9800 Mobile and 2gb of RAM Pentium 4 processor (special edition or something) and windows XP with all 3 service packs. But, my computer has become slower and slower. Other than disk clean up and scanning for spy ware what can I do to speed it up? Also I have AT&T DSL, which should get about 1.2mb/S. I'm only getting about 100kb/S... anyway I can improve that? One last thing (sorry) is there a way I can see which programs are acessing my internet?

Slow internet happens for various reasons. You might have poor hardware connecting your machine to the wall. Maybe your modem-router is not configured correctly.
is it while surfing the internet, or when running progrmas? either way, you can make it go faster. If your internet is slow, you should scan your computer for viruses and spyware using suitable programs..ELSE

These are just some of many possibilities. If you think that your internet connection is slow, Follow these :-
1 .Switch to a different browser
2.Remove unwanted add-ons, extensions, and plugins
3.Close unused tabs
4.Allow (some) cookies and caching .After following all these , check your speed test scanmyspeed.com It will sounds better..
