I bought a MAC OS-X recently and Ive downloaded software using uTorrent. But the downloads took forever. Ive used uTorrent many times before with windows and I know torrents can vary from fast to slow but on MAC its just acting weird the download speed is showing 250-300kb/s
which is pretty good speed for me with my connection but actually it does'nt seem to be going that fast at all. It took about 2 hours maybe to download a 1GB file. I dont know how long it should take but I know its far less probably an hour at the most. This happened on two torrent files Ive downloaded.

Has anybody experienced this and have you found a soloution?
Thanks

uTorrent has settings that you can change in order to speed up or slow down the download and upload rates. Refer to the following article for more information on this:

Also, try not to use the internet for websites that are very large while downloading. It just slows down both tasks. Finally, 1GB in 2 hours is not a bad rate at all, actually, for 250-300kb/s. Try changing the max. for download rates and see if that helps.
