I think this is too early to predict the winner of the WC 2011 but let's consider these facts..

Australia - has been on bad form lately and people tend not to bet their money on Oz. But let's not forget the fact that they're just going thru a bad patch and can bounce back anytime, on time. So I say that Oz is a sure contender for the WC 2011. Them having Sean tait, brett lee and michel johnson already sounds scary.

England - has been on an amazing form and beat Oz 3-1 in Ashes. but still the T20 and ODI series are to be played but I.M.O, England will definitely surprise the cricketing world by reaching at least semi-finals or finals. (how many of you will bet your money on England?)

SA - best test team in the world, but might not do well in the WC series given their history to choke when it comes to important tournaments. So i will not bet my money on them.

Pakistan - silent lions.. when they wake up they shake the whole cricketing world. like they beat us in T20 finals and went on to win the title. I think they will reach semi-finals/finals this time.

India - strong on paper. playing good test cricket and some ODI cricket. they get in to the series with too much confidence and lose their way in the middle like when Bangladesh and Sri Lanka beat them from 1st round of the WC 2007. So I do not keep hopes on them as they always tend to struggle in important tournaments (but I do not completely write them off).

Sri Lanka - well balanced team, on good form, better in sub-continent, play good cricket under pressure in important tournaments, good team selection for the final 15 players. no wonder I bet my money on SL being a Sri Lankan :)..

Bangladesh - should not be taken lightly specially when playing in sub-continent. great possibility for them to reach semis..

WI & NZ - I don't think they have any chance at all..

Here's my predictions for the semis -

Sri Lanka, Pakistan, England, Australia or Bangladesh.

How do you predict yours?
