Small getaway vacation(Midwest of U.S.)?

Hello, my name is D.C. I am currently in Afghanistan serving a one year tour. I come home in 2 and a half months. I am stationed in Kansas and my girlfriend lives back in my hometown, in Missouri. When I get home me and some of my buddies here are going to go to Colorado to go snowboarding and have a week with just us. But I want to take my girlfriend somewhere nice. But also close to Missouri. A boardering state so it doesnt take too much of a cut out of my bank account but also somewhere nice and worth the time and money. I just want to have a romantic weekend with my girlfriend and thank her for waiting for me while I was gone. I know I want to get out of Missouri and dont really want to go to Kansas since I will always be there but if anyone has any ideas will you please lend me some advice.
 
so you will break your bank with a week with your buddies and then skimp on a weekEND with your lady? i 'd leave you if i was her and saw this.
