day...? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/09/09/quran-burning-church-dove_n_711159.html

Does this mean that if I stamp my feet and shake my fists and declare March 17th 2011 an "official burn a bible day" (in honor of all the pagans persecuted in the name of St. Patrick) that Christians will stop cutting down the rainforests and polluting the environment in order to save a handful of copies of the worlds biggest bestseller?

What do you think of this precedent that Terry Jones is setting that if you holler and threaten desecration upon a whole religious group that one person from that group will stop expressing his or her freedoms just to get you to shut up? Is this going to become a trend or has it already become one? What historical comparisons can you make with this political/religious publicity trainwreck?
-Scarlet (speaking as a bemused and annoyed pagan over this whole thing)

PS: and how funny is it that Y!A suggested "Food & Drink > Beer, Wine & Spirits" as the default category for this question? lol!
Just to clarify, I'm not an atheist. I am an agnostic polytheist neo-pagan posting a question just to see how people view this bizarre media game and what impact it actually has.

Well I compare this bizarre Pastor to Hitler burning books in Germany before the War.

He is no man of God. Jesus preached tolerance, love and respect. Jesus preached Love thine enemy.

I'm a Buddhist and I know the scriptures better than this turkey.

Burning the Koran is the politics of hate. I know a number of muslim kids who are refugees from Afghanistan. they are just as frightened and alone as we are. They have to suffer from fools like this Florida pastor back home in their countries too. Now here's a novel idea. let's just ban the religious fanatics and get on with each other.

Also given this character is engaged in politics I hope the IRS strips his church of it's tax free religious status and does this nationwide to others like him.

You burn bibles, we'll cut down more trees and make more. ;o)

Heck we may even to cut into some cows to bind them.....

Go ahead make our day ;o)

Thats different from any other day HOW? You atheists are dedicated to whining and stomping your feet. Your religion is much like that that Mr. Jones follows. Both very, very, very, confused and far twisted from the truth. You, being silly, have done this twist while deluding yourself into believing that it is done in defiance of HE who you dont believe in. Why do atheists try so hard to argue about that which they do not believe. I guess that means you want me to go find a keebler elf room to argue about his wholesome cookie goodness right? Atheists are so lost and confused they are silly and a contradiction to themselves. God Bless
