So I got into an argument with a Marine today.

Man, the military is nothing like the recruitment video says it is. Don't believe what he says. Yeah, there is adventure like no other (if you are active combat arms), but you have to sift through the hordes of morons and knuckleheads that also signed up to actually enjoy it.

In basic combat training, when some people were issued their m4 carbines, it was as if their dick grew three inches. It was so stupid how much of a powertrip you could see one get from being handed an assault rifle. It's like they were dumb kids. It was as if it wasn't another tool to them. The ones that went on the biggest powertrip couldn't even get their rounds on the paper.

By the way, how are you even in college? That was really hard to read.

Respect should be expect.

I'm staying, I'm finishing my coffee! Enjoying my coffee!

Your fantastic graofftopicr correcting skills put you in a nice Alaskan home I suppose?

Depends.

My one weekend a month thing only responds to national emergencies and missing children and shit like that.

My friends in the national guard and he just goes out on the weekends. I think he just joined the national guard to pay for housing and get cheaper school. Not sure whenever I read on the national guard is benefits suck dick so I ponder to think why he would even bother? Maybe because his parents served in the navy and wanted to continue the family legacy one way or another.

Well I cannot say if he's better than you but I'm sure your mom thinks that you're better than him.

they also dont show in the recruitment videos all the briefings you have to sit through. sexual harassment and suicide prevention

Out of the many guys I know in the reserves not one has been deployed out of country, actually only one out of the 10-15 reservists I know has been "deployed" to assist the police forces at various cities during fleet week festivities.

However, a reserve unit can be deployed to combat locals, one of my buddy's that did 4 tours in Afghanistan said the only reserve unit he heard of over there was a mechanic/technician unit that ended up being stationed far from any hot zone fixing vehicles.

Ive always said that its nothing more than a difference in opinion.

I would go in depth with my thoughts on this issue but you lost me at 'reserves'

didnt put you in one...

so mister college boy. what are you majoring in then. Philosophy, right?
