So I just need a new Receiver for my Home Theater?

I'm used to seeing my Receiver saying DVD Dolby Digital when I go to my DVD input, but now it just says DVD, and I get no sound. All my other inputs just say what the input is, like my Video 3 input usually says All Channel Stereo. Now it just says Video 3.

Do I need a new home theater system entirely, or just a new home theater receiver? It seems like I just need a new receiver, but I'm a noob with this whole home theater thing.
 
You do not need to get a new receiver. The receiver is working fine. It will only show you what the input source you have selected. There is another selector switch in which you can change the audio like all channel in stereo etc. You just have to make that change on the source of material you are playing. Hope this will help you out.
