So, you know about that Sattelite that is supposed to hit Earth/fall Friday?

I just saw it on the news. It's supposed to be somewhere between Canada and South America, most likely in the ocean. It's like, 6 tons I think? I live near the ocean though.. would it cause like, a huge flood/tsunami? Sorry, really paranoid, but I also find it fascinating at the same time. :). any info/a link would be good. x).

A satellite weights a few tons at the most. I saw a satellite reenter the atmosphere once, by the way. It looked like an orange ball going across the sky, slower than a normal meteor but faster than an airplane. I thought I'd seen a UFO, but heard the next day it was a falling satellite. It fell in Wyoming and didn't cause any catastrophes.

There are 7000 satellites in space right now, buzzing around the Earth like electrons around a Fermium nucleus... or, if you are science-impaired, like bees around a Chrysanthemum... or if you are nature impaired, like paparazzi around that porn-star Kim Kardashian.

Often a satellite will have its orbit decay and crash into the Earth. Where else do you think they would go? Why don't you hear about every other satellite that says "adios" while crashing into the Pacific? Three little words... Slow News Day.

The whole satellite when it was in one piece was the size of a school bus (3 meters by 10 meters).
So, if a school bus filled with rocks landed in the ocean, do you think it would cause a tsunami...?

NASA scientists predict that most of the satellite will break or burn up before reaching Earth.
Scientists have identified 26 separate pieces of the 5-tonne object that could survive the fall through the earth's atmosphere.

Its amazing how much information can be found with just a few seconds of searching:
