Someone asked me for a ride home this weekend. I said yes, but we didn't discuss...

...gas. Is it too late to ask? An acquaintance asked me for a ride home from college this coming weekend (we're from the same hometown). I was going anyway, so I said yes, but we didn't discuss splitting gas. Is it too late to ask her about it? I don't want to seem stingy, but the trip is 5 hours (one way) and I pay for all my own gas, so it can get kind of expensive for me...
If it's not too late, how should I go about bringing it up now?

It's too late to deny the person a ride, but not too late to ask if they can toss in a few bucks for gas, especially if you're doing all the driving (tho' even if they do some driving, that still shouldn't dissuade you from asking).

I don't know. You were going in the first place so I'd just not mention it. She should have brought it up in the first place of course though.
