My son is 13 months and randomly he will just let out an ear piercing scream. He isn't sad or angry, tired or unhappy. He just screams. If I tell him no, he just laughs and giggles at me. Its almost like screams are in his vocabulary. How can I get him to stop screaming?
and please dont recommend the doctor. I hate answers like that. We can't go to one.

It is just a phase hon. If you ignore it he will see that his behaviour is getting no attention and will eventually give up.

He's just squealing with excitement there's no harm in it my children did that at that age.it may hurt your ears but why would you tell him off for expressing his enjoyment. He's little more than a baby he won't do it forever but for now he should be allowed to enjoy squealing in delight and to practise new sounds he can make without the fear of anyone telling him off.let him enjoy the age He's at and you try to enjoy this precious age and don't worry about what is perfectly natural behaviour.

it just feels funny in his throat is what i assume, i know its annoying and ear piercing but it will stop eventually. i nanny for twins that are almost one and they do it all the time. my daughter who is almost 4 still does it occasionally, but she knows that it is irritating and she is doing it out of anger or frustration. he will stop eventually, sorry there isn't really anything else i can suggest!

He most likely thinks its funny and you telling him to stop makes it funnier for him. he probably finds it entertaining and there is probably nothing wrong. I wouldnt worry about it. but always stay firm in telling him to stop. Do something he doesnt like, such as timeout. he wont think that punishment is funny and will catch on that it is not okay to scream like that. ya and doctor wont help.
