Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2 on Wii Virtual Console?

Which one is better, the SEGA GENESIS version, or the MASTER SYSTEM version? The master versions are 500 points and the genesis ones are 800 points I believe. On the Nintendo website it says that the 1st game was re-released on the master system and has more levels. I love games with lots of levels that take a long time to complete, but I also don't want a crappy game. So which version is your fave and why? I don't want to waste my Wii points.
