Sony Ericsson C510 on 3: Uninstalling Windows Live Messenger?

I have recently bought a Sony Ericsson C510 on the 3 network. Windows Live Messenger is one of it's 'features'. It automatically loads whenever you open your contact list, however I don't use it and I can't uninstall it. This app uses a lot of battery life. Does anyone know how to either uninstall it or change the app's permissions? Both of these are locked on the phone.

this happens to me too, it's very annoying and i have no idea how to stop it :/
