Sony Ericsson W580i and i put the music on my phone but it says i can not set it...

omg i have the exact same problem
i think its because the song files are too big. You have to cut it up somehow, but im not quite sure how to do it

yea same problem here too. here's what i do. i had a motorola razor before with their multimedia cd which can shorten or make songs into ringtones. i just sent it to my razor then using bluetooth i send it over to my w580. another way you can do this is just by buying or maybe downloading a ringtone creator and just chop the song into pieces you like then save it as wmp so you can just sync it using windows media player...i hope this helps...i havent tried the wmp version yet but ill try it now

maybe ur phone is locked and ur service provider has disable the feature...some service provider limit the phone feature...such as not letting people to set mp3 as their ringtone...my friend's w580i is unlocked and he can use any mp3 files at any size to be set as ringtone...
