Sony Ericsson W580i keypad problem?

I just got a W580i Sony Ericsson sliding phone, and now everytime I close it, it is as if a button is being pressed bc a screen that says 'press unlock' comes up, and everytime it is unlocked the number 8 keeps popping up over and over like the key is stuck down or something!

Help Please!!
 
The W580i keypad is notoriously bad, and warps over time, contacting the bottom of the slide.

Short of replacing the keypad (or better yet, the phone), there really isn't much you can do.
