Sony ericsson w995 button doesnt work?

Hello, had my w995 for about 4 months now and the 9 button has just randomly stopped working, so i can't text properly, and in case of emergency can't call 999. The rest of the phone is in perfect working order, no damage, water damage etc. Would be grateful if anyone could give me any information in why it just stopped working? and if it can be easily fixed? Thankyou :)
 
I had an Sony Ericsson phone **hint hint** I hate them and they suck!!!! but just take it to the phone shop maybe they can give a new one for free
