Sony Ericsson Xperia Question...Easy 10 points?

i have a sony ericsson xperia pro running android 4.0

i have lost my earphone set and i would like to know whether using another earphone set of another phone will damage the headset. i have a blackberry earphone set which i used sometime back and it is still working. is it ok if i use the blackberry earphone set with my xperia?
