Sound Problems on my DivX player?

I downloaded some stargate sg-1 shows and they only play on the DivX player on my computer. The sound and the show are out of sync. Is there anything I can do to make it play in sync? and no, it won't play on my WMP, they are extension .avi but won't play, don't know why?
