I'm a 19 yr old male with no riding experience. I want to get a starter bike, probably a Kawasaki ninja 250. Ive been looking up insurance and whatnot, and i was wonding if i could get some experienced opinions on whether or not to get the collision and comprehensive part of the insurance.
The bike will probably run between 2500 and 3000. Without the insurance, just medical coverage its going to be approximately $200 to $300/yr.
When i add collision and comprehensive, it comes out to be about $800 a year. If i pay that for 3 years it basically covers the cost of the bike itself. Is it even worth it? I do have the money to pay for the insurance, but only a couple years worth.
Should i take the risk, be a little more careful, and just get the medical coverage, or should i definitely go with the collision coverage?
Also do you think $100,000 person/$300,000 accident/$50,000 property is enough coverage?
