Sprint Blackberry Curve 8330 Texting?

I have the new blackberry curve for sprint and love everything about it. The only thing is that when I send text messages, it only allows me to use 160 characters for a single text. My friends have older versions of the blackberry curve and they are able to have up to 6 pages of texting for a single text. Is there anyway for me to change this so I don't have to limit my texting to 160 characters?
