Sprint/Nextel Blackberry 8350i slow texts & call dropping?

I have a new blackberry 8350i that is terrific, except call quality at times is poor, dropping calls 3 times in 5 minutes, also text msgs sent to me don't arrive until hours later, and then all at once. I have the same carrier as with my previous phone, so what is the problem?

Call dropping is not normal. The texting problem is a RIM (research In Motion) problem. They are working on a solution and you should receive an update as soon as it comes out.
