Okay so my homework question is below:
Suppose the mayor of los angeles wants to sample the opinion of the adult residents of the city in order to estimate the percentage who favor the mayor's proposal to tighten restrictions on public smoking
"nine hundred people are chosen at random from Los Angeles phone directory and 60% of them favor the mayor's proposal. the survey research firm hired by the mayor's office then reports the results as follows:
With 95% confidence, the percentage favoring the new restrictions lies in the range 60% with 3 confidence
find the following:
parameter
population
sample
sample statistic
level of confidence
margin of error
sampling frame
Okay, I thought you could only have a sample or a parameter. Is it the sample that is 540 people or the sample statistic? What is the parameter and sampling frame? Could someone explain this?
