Steering wheel squeaks on bmw?

I am thinking of purchasing a 96 325i bmw the car drives really well except for one annoying problem when I turn the wheel it squeaks the wheel turns fine with no problem could the wheel just need some good ol WD40 or can this be something serious? I googled this problem and it seems to be minor but I'm still skeptical on purchasing...please help

No it is nothing serious at all, the bearing on the outside of the steering wheel in the engine bay just needs greased. I took a aerosol can of white grease and taped 3 bendy straws together and sprayed the bearing near the firewall from the underside of the car and it never squeaked again.
