There's a piece of plastic covering the pci port: do I break it off, or try to pry it or something. There's nothing in the manual, and I don;t wanna have to call support.

It is an Hp dv9700t 17" laptop.

Also, it's my first day with vista, so any good help sites?
How do I open windows explorer, too?
Oh, bless you guys, I got it out, but how can I open windows explorer?

PCMCIA port? You should be able to push it or a little button on the side in and it'll just pop out. I'd leave it, but you can take it out it's not going to hurt. Or if its really a piece of plastic, just break it.

Windows Explorer is in Accessories (i think) or possible in the main programs directory.

Good luck with Vista, its pretty annoying at first.
