first off Let me start out by telling you what kind of equipment I have.

Amp: Alpine MRP- F550
4 Channel
* 90 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (125 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
* 250 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

Speakers: JL AUDIO VR-690 2- way speakers(powered by amp)
* 4-ohm impedance
* 2-80 watts RMS power range

Subwoofers: MTX AUDIO 4500 (Powered by Amp)
* Peak 450 Watts
* RMS 225 Watts

The Problem here is that I feel as if my subs are not thumping as much as a couple of my friends. How can I set the amp or get rid of the 6x9s to test if the subs can get more bass? Basically is my amp giving enough power? Do i need to do something here? If my amp is giving enough power than do I need bigger subs? What Watts of subs can i get that will be able to work loud and good with my amp? What do I need to do in order for my subs to hit harder? The 2 subs and the 2 6x9's are in the trunk in a custom box fitted just for my car.. I can have the 2 speakers running low freq as well.. but I just want them to hit hard!

Any help is appreciated thanks!

remove speaker wires and bridge the amp to 250 by 2 at 4ohms run 250 to each sub make it lpf if you have that setting if not play with the hrtz settings.should hit twice as hard.

i have those same exact subwoofers, 2 of them 12 inch

and i have them powered with an alpine mrp-m450 amplifier and they pound SO HARD

with that amp, since its 4 channels and pushed 250rms @ 4 ohms x2 channels bridged, brudge each sub

and youll be having 250rms be going to each sub, take the 6x9 inch speakers off of the amp and just bridge your subs, and just have your 6x9speakers going off of your head unit. and those speakers arent great, specially if you have low frequencies going to them, then their pointless because they are doing nothing for you

so this is what you do

unhook all speakers and subs
bridge each sub, so youll have just 2 subs hooked up to the 4 channels

then they will pound.
