suburu imprezza or vw golf?

i have a suburu imprezza 4y/o, and i am looking to buy a new car i am tossing up getting the imprezza or the vw pacific golf or something in the golf range, are there any golf drivers out who have gone from a imprezza to a golf and are you happy with you golf compared to the imprezza and are vw cheap to service compared to imprezzas
i have had a suburu imprezza standard 2 litre engine 4 year old, and i find my imprezza lacks grunt and is thirsty at the pump,i keep getting overtaken by vw getz just about every 2 litre car on the road and i cannont afford a wrx and the vw looks a nice looking cars compared to the new imprezza

......I say go with one of them you can afford. If you want a suburu, go with the STI. if you're going with VW go with the GTI or R32... You'll get best handling and braking from the Suburu though, but you'll get the more looks and goodies from the VW.

suburu all the way, they are proformance cars and very safe ....VW on the other hand i've had countless friends with golfs,rabbits and jettas and they are notorious for blowing the tranny....i'd go with the suburu
