I have a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE, 4 cyl, 2.4L. Mileage-- 229,200 Great car, very few problems despite the high mileage.
It sudddenly began making a noticable whine at idle. (Can't be heard at highway speeds.)
Seems to be coming from the area from where the alternator/ belts/ pulleys are at.
Otherwise everything seems fine; performance is not affected.
Anyone know what might be causing the noise? Should I just ignore it? Thanks.
