I have never been on a cruise before and would like suggestions for a "first timer". Which cruise line should I try? What length of a cruise should I look for?

I would like to try to depart from Galveston or New Orleans. These are both within driving distance for me. There are several 3, 4, and 5 day cruises. Is 3 or 4 days long enough to really get a "feel" for it? Any suggestions or ideas on how to get a good deal?

It would be just me and my daughter for this first cruise. She is 8 and loves to travel. She and I are going to test it out to see if the rest of the family would enjoy taking a cruise.

Princess was just voted best first time cruise by cruisecritic who are the number one site for all things cruising. I happen to think Princess would be a perfect first time cruise. Also for your first cruise, I think nothing shorter then 7 days is just not long enough.

Well if you are going just to test it out yes a 5 day cruise should be sufficient for the both of you. I would recommend Carnival cruise. so much to ofer for you and your daughter. once you enjoy this one you can do a 7 day one leaving from miami!! its worth it...and also you can stay two nights in miami and explore it...
click on the link i left for you. it is an estimate for you and your daughter leaving from New Orleans in April. you can change it to your specifications.
Hope it helps. if you need any more help email me: [email protected]
