We have 2 Persian male cats and this is the first time they will be traveling with us on airplane. We have to book them in the cargo as that is the only option through the airline..I am a bit nervous as I would ideally have liked to take them in the cabin. The other thing is we want to buy one big cage for both the cats so they are comfortable in each other's presence but the airline has specified two separate cages for each.
The older one (3) is calm and docile but his son (2) is quite hyper and has never been out much. Would you people recommend taking them separately? The vet has advised against sedating them before the flight which is on 9th March. It is a domestic flight of 2 hours so I am not that worried about the timings... but leaving them in the cargo with the luggage sounds bothersome..
Any suggestions and similar experiences would be really reassuring at this point for preparing them for the journey.
