Suitable MKV. convertion for Blu Ray ...?

I just recently downloaded a Blu Ray movie in a MKV. format. What's a suitable format to convert a MKV. file to for Blu Ray disc. burning? For example MPEG-4 AVC Video (*.mp4) or HD H264 Video (*.mp4) etc. I want it to be able to play in any Blu Ray player drive.
