will have 4boys and 2girls? suppose u were interesting in knowing the probability that a family with 6 children will have 4 boys and 2 girls. how can i perform this simulation to determine the probability? please help

Simulation? Well, you could have lots of kids but no matter how hard you try that will be a small number of samples. Maybe you could have twelve kids but that would only be a sample of size 2.

I think you should just use the binomial distn and say it's C(6,2)(1/2)^6 = 15/64

Imagine the mom is pregnant lol.. Assuming there is gonna be equal chances that the baby will be a boy or a girl, then the chances for either is 1/2. If the pregnancy happens six times, then it's 1/2 raised to the 6th power. Hence, 1/64.

Well it really determines on the sperm... you could medically have the dr. plant a sperm in the egg and know if it going to be a girl or boy.. other then that it normally by the x and y chromosome that determines the sex of the child..
