Surviving norwegian weather while on vacation?

In either late march or late april im supposed to go to norway. I live in the middle east where it's sunny everyday & in the winter it barely rains...
i know that around march april the average weather is 53 degrees fahrenheit (12 celsius)...i've only experiences such low degrees once & i thought i was about to freeze to death, How can i survive such terrible weather??...I don't want the weather to ruin my holiday, once i was in new jersey for about 3 hours & i cried cz it was so cold.
 
Dress in multiple layers that can be put on or taken off to accomodate the cold.
 
As you say going from such a warm climate to such a cold one will take some acclimatising to at first. But why go to such a cold country when you hate the cold. You need to order some thermal underwear online that will certainly keep you warm no matter how cold it is and will save your tears. :)
