Suzuki Sv650 vs Ninja 650r, which one should i upgrade to from a ninja250?

I love my 06 ninja 250r by the way! I plan to ride it for the next entire season till winter in 2011, but I am planning to save up for a 650cc bike after 2011 because 600cc is bad ass but i want to take baby steps to a 600 tho by getting a 650. So i wanted to know, which 650 is better? I am going to commute a lot through town and highway. Just want something that has power, reliable, and etc.
