I have already followed all of the steps online on how to convert a song not purchased from itunes into a ringtone. I converted to aac and then changed the file extension to .m4r and they all show up under my iTunes ringtone tab but they dont show up on my phone once it is synced. It sync's with no problem but they are no where to be found on my phone. I have tried converting the file back to .m4a before syncing with no luck. How can I take the ringtones I have made and actually get them to sync to my phone. Believe me I have tried all the steps I have seen on the internet. I have tried both .m4r and .m4a and neither have worked. Any ideas?

p.s. I dont need someone to simply copy and paste the steps they find online, I need a specific answer to the question I asked.

connect your phone to itunes. click on your phone in the left column of itunes. Now go to the tabs at the top of the screen and select music. Make sure the ringtones box is checked for syncing. Then sync the phone again. Should appear this time.

OR TRY THIS.....

Too all the people out there that have followed all the steps and...

1. Can see the created Ringtones in their itunes Ringtone folder
2. Can see it in the itunes Ringtone "Sync" folder under devices
- The folder where it lets you select all ringtones or just a few
3. Have synced over and over and cannot get it into their iphone

Here is the solution!

plz paypal me $1 for answer

Go to get "info" on your newly created ringtones, under "Name", you CAN have spaces, don't put in special characters

When you create ringtones from your songs you have in your music library, it will come with album info. This is where the problem is, delete everything under INFO and SORTING except for the "name" portion.
