taking anal glands out of cat?

i have three cats, two males and one female. they are all seven years old and all fixed. for the last three years my two male cats have been spraying all over everything. my husband wants me to get rid of them because i cant keep up on the smell ( that's how much they spray ). i don't want to get rid of them they are part of the family and my kids would be heartbroken. i started looking into getting their anal glands removed, but i don't know much about it and don't know if it is humane, but i am out of options with them. any advice?
