Motley Crue are (or were) a metal band from Los Angeles, which is known as the City of Angels. In Wim Wenders film 'Wings of Desire' the city is watched over by angels, starring Bruno Ganz. we need to get this going again so sorry for the not so tenuous link but it's all i can think of.

Taxis are a modern-ish form of public transport - an older version of this would have been the horse and carriage. Back in the day, rich people travelling by horse and carriage may have been accosted by a dandy highwayman who would have told them to "stand and deliver" - later used as a song by adam ant.

Stand and deliver is something postmen do on a daily basis. Apart from this one postman who just wouldn't stop moving about, and kept delivering the wrong things to different houses. This led The Marvelettes to writing their hit, Mr. Postman.
