The guy i was dating was hurt by a rumor...please help me fix this....?

Ive been dating a guy (nathan) from work for a month he is the only guy i want to be with. I started guitar lessons with another guy (paul) from work and we became fast friends. Paul is over twice my age hes married with 5 kids and his wife also works with us.....this is just a friendship but the rumor at work is that we were seen having sex in the parking lot at work....Nathan heard this and he refuses to talk to me. I confronted him in person today and he told me about the rumors and said hes just going to ignore the situation and in the process he is going to ignore me... We live in a small town there will always be rumors But i never thought Nathan would get hurt and it hurts me that he believes all of this. I need to fix this somehow... please any advice at all is apritiated THANK YOU!
 
If Nathan thinks so little of you why would you want to be with him? Think about it. He has known you for all of one month, and rather than ask you if those rumors had any truth to them, he chose--on his own volition to believe them. Now he thinks you are not worthy of his sacred company. Please, forget this one and find someone new. And maybe in the future keep work and dating separate.
 
Well, now it's time to give an "ultimatum" meaning let him know that you are telling the truth for the last time..if he wants to believe the rumors instead of you, (then that let's you know he's a follower,he goes by what he hears.) then your gonna leave. And even if it hurts you too... You have to show people that you're stronger than what they think..
