up a book and read an account..? of what happened 2000 years ago. Which of these two groups are more likely to be in the dark about what was happening 2000 years ago?

Which ones? The people who were there and had Christ as their personal teacher, or the ones who read accounts of those events... and those accounts even end with the warning: "Many things happened that were not written down."

I am asking this question because I have been told by believers that the disciples and Apostles of Christ did not have a clue as to what wag going on... in spite of Christ calling his apostles his "brothers" and his "friends" and even saying that he shared everything that God gave him with them.

So what do you think? Who is it that really doesn't have a clue?

The ones who were there and could ask questions any time they wanted, or the ones who came along 2000 years later and read accounts that actually declare that many things were not written down?
