The Hunger Games -RUE help?

Hi do you think If I tried to audition for rue, they would accept me? I'm 23 almost 24 but I look 19 and could pass for 18 I've even hear 17...I have not read the book, but I plan to for sure! I am also african american with really unique features. Expressive eyes...not sure if that matter...but I was wanting to know from ppl who have read the book! Anyways it seems she is too young...like pre teen? Or am I wrong?

Also I heard there were also black or dark colored ppl tribe in the book...I wanted to know are any of them girls and are they main characters out of the 12?

What would be my best bet to have even the slightest chance of auditioning for this film? What are some advice? I have no agent? I want one and am looking hard...but i do have a guy who's interested in marketing me...he's marketed big names like gabrielle union and others...idk though, I'm trying to be. Careful about my time and who ideal with. Please let me know, id love to hear your advice and knowledge about this character! Thank you! Bless ya! =D
 
What the first answerer said, plus I think Rue was a very small, skinny child.

I also can't see why you'd want to audition for something without knowing the story, but I guess a part is a part.

Even though you can't audition for this movie, the book is a great read. You're not too old.

One more thought: If you're looking for an African-American role for yourself, find other books with characters you'd like to play. Form a group with some filmmaker wannabes and other actors and put it together yourselves. Oh, I suppose you'd need permission from the author... or you could just create a character yourself and get a screenwriter to craft a script.
 
unfortunatly casting is over and i think you are a little old to play rue. also no i don't beleive the girls are very main characters in the book. there could have been a chance you got in as there are many infamous actors in the oplay but as i said before casting finished a while back. good luck with your acting career though!
 
There are a few problems with this.

A) They have already cast Rue AND filming for The Hunger Games was completed in September.

B) You're way, way too old, Rue is a twelve (12) year old girl, you could never play her.

C) Yes there are some black people the as I said, THG filming is over.
